Default Polaris 90 Shifting problem

I have a 2008 Polaris 90 and cannot figure out why once the machine is warmed up it has a hard time going from the forward position to reverse??? If the machine is shut off it will move from forward to reverse no problem. I checked the manual and it said something about the indexing being bad.

What the heck is the indexing and how do i fix it???

Havent had problem you are having YET. HIGH idle can be one reason for hard shifting, might try to lower idle speed and see if helps. Just a thought, especially if shifts ok with engine off. Good luck

Thanks, will check the idle speed, my recollection was that I increased the idle to keep it from dieing so I will re-check. I was hoping someone had heard of the whole indexing thing and could comment on that....

Lowering the idle fixed the problem for me
