Default 2002 Xpedition 425

Hi
When my Xpedition gets warm the neutral light won't light and I have to use the pull rope to start. After it cools down the light comes on fine. I've also had this happen with the reverse light.
I'm thinking the gear selector switch might be faulty. Any ideas?

If you haven't load tested the battery,it might be as simple as that. They can test good as far as voltage when charged but can loose voltage under a load if the cells are corroded or the regulator isn't charging at least 14 volts back the battery.Even new ones out of the box can do this. Plus I'd check the wires on the rev/netural indicator to see if there is a loose connection problem there. One problem these models did have was the reverse actuator on the right side of the engine going out. You might check its wiring and pull the manual lever and see if it makes any difference.
