What's It For?
 

Had the instrument pod off my 08 Sportsman 400 HO and see a wire that is not connected to anything. Has a round connection and rubber end Thought it was an accessory wire and was going to use it for my "Hot Grips", but doesn't seem to have power.

Any idea what it does.

I think that is the wire the dealer uses to connect a scanner(code look-up reader) for them to troubleshoot there Quads...........Caper.............

If its a red wire with white stripe then has power with key on. Should have one red/white in a plastic connector,then depending on model will have another that is rubber coated,but can use if needed.

The red with white stripe is in use for winch. This one is a dark color with white stripe but no power, key on or off.

if it is coated w/ rubber it must be intended for use w/ power and maybe either not hooked/fused or a wire harness used for more then 1 bike and not used on this one. just a guess.
