What is the best way to sell a used atv? Do you trade it in, or market it yourself??

I've never seen a dealer want to give what the market value is. Used ATVs generally sell quickly and at pretty good prices. A lot of the time we can set them out in a high traffic area and sell them in a day or two without advertising. The trick is to clean them real well. We all know that has nothing to do with the value of the machine but it works.

Attention to detail is very important. Remove all traces of mud, grime and old grease. Buff and wax the plastic. Paint the rims, frame, and racks and you will see a big difference in resale value.

If displaying the ATV in a high traffic area does not generate interest, run an ad in the local newspaper or trading magazine. Be prepared for "tire kickers" and professional shoppers. Some people entertain themselves by shopping and making ridiculous offers on sports equipment, ignore them, it comes with the territory. Your quad is exactly what somebody is looking for.

You can also post it here and at other web sites in the free classified ads sections. I have good success with the one here at the ATV Connection.

By the way what are you selling or wanting to get rid of? I may be interested.

check Kelly Blue book.com for the retail and trade in value of your machine. .clean it really good, if anything is in need of replacing either lower the asking price or fix it. When I sell something I look at what others are asking also if someone Is there and they have a reasonable dollar ammount close to my asking Price I take it, learned my lesson selling a snowmobile, got an offer did not take it ended up selling it for less than the other guy offered me 8 months later that sucked. I only trade when I really want something bad enough to take a hit on the price.

Slickrock,

Is there such a thing as an unwanted ATV? Not here!

To all, please send unwanted ATVs to me! Any brand, any year. I will pay the shipping. I promise to take good care of them all!
