Default 2005' 700 EFI - Power loss in High gear

This isn't a question but will hopefully help someone.

I had a sudden loss in power in the high range of my 700 sportsman. I followed many tips and advice from all you great people out there (especially OTP).

Many thought I should check the plugs - running on both cyliders and idles fine. Others thought I may have messed up the clutch when changing the belt - check the spacers/center to center...all good.

I finally brought it in to the shop on an insurance claim when my shifter quit working in forward (L & H) accident related, lol

Anyhow, the tech had a hard time finding the other problem - Runs/idles fine and has 2/3 power range in High, ?

<span class="FTHighlightFont">Well - Here it is.......</span ft>

A chunk of the foam that lies between the two air ports when you take the seat off, ripped off and got sucked into the intake.

He thought he saw something and proceeded to grab some long-nose pliers and pulled out a 2'x4" piece of foam from the intake. One thing I never checked...

Anyhow - I hope I will save some sum money in the future with this post.........Good riding!
