What are the differences, they both look the same to me?

They are the same, except the X2 has a dump bed, from which a pass seat can fold up from, giving you the utility of a one up with dump, or a two up. The touring is a dedicated two up, with a large recliner on the back for the pass. If you are doing a lot of two up, the touring is the more comfortable of the two. If you want something to use as utility plus be able to ride two up, get the X2.

The X2 has a box on the back like a truck and converts to a 2-up. The Touring is a 2-up with a big cushy king/queen seat.

EDIT: Damn I type slow.

As far as I know the only thing different is the dump box, seat, and rear body. I haven't looked closely at the specs but they're right here. http://www.polarisindustries.c...US/Atv/Pages/Home.aspx

EDIT: It's the same wheelbase but the OAL and the weight are different.

suspension is the same, rolled indepndent rear suspension angled to the rear to safely accomidate the passenger weight. The x2 is a bit heavier, may not be as comfortable for the passenger. But much more versatile!!!

The rear rack capacity on the Touring is 180lb. The x2 is 400lb?

I looked at both before buying the X2.

The Touring is a very comfy 2-seater. And if 2-up is most of what you do, it's a fantastic choice.

The X2 fit my needs better. Although the second seat isn't as comfy as the Touring, it is comfy.

Most of the time I travel with no passenger and I REALLY like the storage and versatility of the little dumper. There isn't much you can't do with it!

Another note about the X2, It doesn't feel any bigger than a regular Sportsman.

Hope this helps!

I looked at both before getting the X2. I chose the X2 because I have some younger children and wanted the extra side protection (from sliding off) that the X2 provided over the touring.

My wife is used to riding on the peanut pad on my motorcycle so the ATV seat on the X2 is plenty comfy to her.

The added benefit is that you get a dump box when riding solo. Didn't think I would use the box much - but I have been surprised how handy this is.

Dittos on everyone's comments. Touring has comfort, hands down. X2 is more versatile.
