no way to tighten those belts up. they are made to spec. have you tried blowing the clutches out to get rid of the dust taht is created in there? is that 6000 at 30 in low or high? was it having any kind of problems before you changed the belt? you could have worn buttons causing the clutches to stick

If it worked fine before you changed it, and assuming you put the correct belt on, there is nothing you did or could do to change something.

The CVT system will rev high or low depending on speed, load, accelleration, etc. As long as it will run out at top speed the clutches are working properly. Your cams could be wearing out, or the weights, the clutch could be sticking during its staging, but more than likely its just the parinoid feeling some people get after changing something....

try normal full throttle to see if it revs up normal and doesnt over rev. did you put the correct belt back on and make sure you can read the words and its not on back wards.

the atv runs good but my friend has the same and at 30 on ice /lake same location he was doing 4500 rpm so thats a big differnce..in low gear i am reving so high i put it in hi right away .i will check the belt again it may be possible its on backwards but i dont think so..

Are the quads exaclty the same..tire size ect..
Also is this at WOT or just cruising...if it is just cruising then something is definitely wrong..as said the RPMS will vary based on load..the higher the load the higher the RPM for a given speed generally..ierun it WOT to 30mph and the RPMs at 30 will be alot higher than if you are just cruising at 30..

ya same on ice and i realize theres some slippage ect on ice but before the belt change i would do 40-50 with-out the engine sounding high revved now at 30mph and 6000 rpm the engine seems revving really high.. how much higher can i rev the engine before over reving it and causeing damage ?? anyone know what the max rev limit is on the 700's

If it isn't upshifting properly I wouldn't risk it...get it figured out..don't take it too much above 6000,especially for extended periods..the 2008 700 is rated at 6500+/-200 for Max. operating RPM..
Bottom line something is wrong..did you use an OEM Polaris belt??
