I have the radial version & they are a very nice tire that work great in all conditions, too early to tell how they will wear but the non radial one's wear like iron. Around here mudlites are called "pluglites".

does plugites mean you have to plug them alot..6ply??

Ya a lot of people have had trouble especially guys that have big bore bikes. The newer ones may be better but not as tough as mudbugs, a guy around here has over 13,000 kms (8,000 mi) on a set & never had a flat.

Sorry for the rant, but man it is so crazy! I can never decide on my future purchase
of a tire set cuz just when I am ready with all my research/testimonials, then too negative many posts about a particular brand always happens!. We should start a Top-5 list based on affordability. Like if Money was NO object, what is the proven all-around best tire, trail, hardpack, mud and snow? Then we can move on from there, what is the best MUD tire, what is the best SNOW tire, What is the best hardpack. Heres a wish list I composed but NOT sure what would be better. 1- BIGHORN-2 2- Terracross 3- MudLites or Swamplites 4- ITP 589's 5- Mudbogs or Mudzilla's Alll of these are NOT necessarily in any order just a TOP 5, thoughts? I have to agree on the "Pluglite's". I had about 15 plug's in my mudlite's in about 1000 mile's. I just purchased a set of Mudbug radial's for my 800. I've only been on one short ride, but these tire's ride and handle better so far over the Mudlite's.

Are you guys talking about the regular Mudlite or the Mudlite XTR being unreliable????

A mudbug will outperform any Mudlite any day. I can't really believe I read someone say mudlites are better than bugs. LOL
Rtickwad, here's a list for you, since you have a 800 with 12" rims Bighorn #1 Bighorn 2.0 #2 Mudbugs #3 Zilla #4 Outlaw MST #5 Top two for trails, the others for everything else. If you want a mud tire, go mudzilla, but they are pretty heavy. In the mudbugs, go for 26 or 28, not the 27's. Anything bigger than 26 (including bighorns, because they run tall) you will probably need some stiffer springs because the tires will rub the fenders while riding and hitting bumps. |
