Hi, I was wondering how you wheelie on an automatic quad, preferably the Sport 400 and Scrambler 400 & 500, I know how to do it on manual clutch atv's and dirt bikes and auto clutch atv's, but just wondering????

It`s really not that difficult the only problem is when there stock they only wheelie from a dead stop. Just sit back, nail the throttle and pull up. Some of it is timing you need to know the exact moment when your clutch is going to grab and time it with the pull up on the bars.

You can also hold the brake, throttle slightly, let off the brake and nail the throttle at the same time plus pull up on the bars. This method takes out the clutch lag and timing is not as important.

They will not lift the front end at speed like a manual clutched machine would, unfortunatly. HTH

It is easier to wheelie on a sport 400 or trailblazer. They have lighter front ends. But I have seen Xplorers pull up the front end for a short wheelir ride. If I can hook up I have rode 100+ foot wheelies on my Scrambler. It takes practice but is a fun skill to learn. Learning how to have a steady thumb on the gas is key when you get the front end off the ground to "ride" your wheelie for a ling distance. Have Fun!

Once you have the engine running and in forward gear, push the throttle forward with your right thumb. The front end will lift off the ground and wheelie. No timing, no pulling back on the bars, etc. just a pure power wheelie.
I'ts even easier once the quad has a clutch kit.

Well the way I wheelie is start power braking and just let off the brakes you lift the front end right off the ground. But if you drive like adamnieman you'll be spending a lot of time on your rear grab bar I've seen this guy ride. Yes he can do 100+ feet.

Put in forward...sit back..push throttle...instant wheelie.

You can hold a polaris in a wheelie all day.

No the question would be "how do I get out from under all these payments on my overpriced "race quad".

No2StrokeBs, Funny how a overweight, piped and clutched gutless Xplorer400 can smoke a stock 400ex in a drag ain't it? It isn't what you ride its the fact that you ride that matters.All quads have there good and bad points.
