Remove the gas tank and right on top of the motor is the valve cover, remove the bolts and take off the cover, under the cover are the rocker arms and cam, a service manual would help .

So you mean you changed the stator,pluse and cdi for nothing,or was it still needed?

If those parts are good,than you can sell them on Ebay.

Thats why you buy a $50 Manual right off the hop, it would explain how to test those parts with a muliti meter, much easier and cheaper way of doing things.

 

well pulser and stator were bad, but i started with cdi (dumb) then found out it was stator

 

im going to mess with it for another week or 2 and if i cant get it going,i guess i will have to part it out,then you will see a bunch of polaris parts on ebay.

 

those anybody know if the gap between pulser and fly wheel would make it run like this?

 

dood dont part it out,, **** i'll buy it for what you paid for it plus the money for the stator and stuff... if you cant get it ... take it in.. your not loosing money...800 plus a couple hundo is pretty good for a 02 500... you should have known buying it.. that it needed work.. and when you buy 2nd hand never take anyones word for anything... take it in if you cant fix it

 

i would sell it for $800 cash right now, the thing is it does not have a title. i bought it just to go play in the woods close to my house, i dint care if it had no tittle. but i dont think i can sell it with no title thats why i was thinking of parting it.

 

My camshaft went but there was a very hollow sound to it.

 

If you don`t have a title because it`s stolen then this is bad karma.
