Hey Dande, this is not just a Polaris prob. This is the problem for the whole industry. Honda would not warranty a radiator that sprung a leak 4 days after warranty expired. Polaris, AC, Yamaha, Can AM, Kawaski, Suzuki, and the others all have the lame a$$ warranty service. The warranty is only as good as your dealer. This works for ATV's, lawnmowers and cars.

I know the a good dealer makes all the difference in the world, but the topic was "As a Polaris customer", what could be better.... and I still stand behind my statement, a longer warranty for a $7,000 item and some real customer service, theirs is terrible.

"Contact us" doesn't really contact anyone and just try to get to a real person that cares, don't hold your breath.....

Well here is another perspective.....What if Polaris could choose their
customers? What would they say?

I don't know maybe its the mood I am in right now, but it seems like this thread
has turned a "little" into a Mfg. bash. A little cheese with that whine? LOL..LOL

All points understood and as now giving Polaris $15k plus (2 Sportsmans and accessories, etc..) I feel I can voice some opinions too. Pick any other Mfg., and they have their issues, many worse, too. Since 2006 when I first bought into Polaris I have seen drastic improvements and innovations in the last 3yrs with a promising future (technology/engineering wise).

Again all IMHO!

Cheers,

Well that is what some are saying about this first year model. We will see what develops here. I don't think there is a recall on it yet. Are those XP's running aftermarket tires? Are they lifted?

Cheers,

Lots of 500 with lift and upgrade tires over the last many years........Never heard of and tire-rod or ball joint issue there.........Maybe too much weight and motor for the parts they use?

...............I remember when Yamaha put out the V-Max-4 sled.......
There was so much twist in the 4-cyl motor that they had trouble keeping it line-up properly...

But it still can be abuse, nobody can really tell how it was rode in relation to the damage it recieved......................Caper..........

Clued my dealership owner in on this site. He said they passed this onto Polaris. Polaris only considers dealership complaints, and basically cares less of what is posted on ATV Connection forum. A tipical Polaris rude, conniving attitude. I believe they require this attitude of their dealerships.

Doug,

I find that most people I talked to in whatever professional business catagory (auto, medical, technology) will always bash the INTERNET when you cite references from it to make points or ask questions.

Its a catch22, we all go to the internet to do research etc. etc. but when it comes down to it, NO DEALER wants to hear about complaints or issues that come from information on the internet. -- IMHO

I also find that these attitudes that dealerships have are NOT exclusive to Polaris. Man, you should come and visit my local SEARS Auto, those guys are some real jerks. I went to a local motorcycle shop that I was really wanting to give my business to because they are right here. Well they have their prices marked up 200% and so as you walk in the door you get NO nice greeting its all attitude even if you call them to ask questions etc. AS TO WHY I NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM THEM! Ohh BTW, they sell Honda, Yamaha, Kawaski, Suzuki, Victory (even though they don't sell Polaris ATV's), street bikes, dirt bikes, and ATV's.

I had to drive 2 1/2 hrs away to get the prices, sales an service I was looking for and its been worth it! I call them, get a price that has predominately been better than most prices I found on the internet, give them my card and get my stuff if in stock the next day or two. Great support!

So NO! Not all Polaris Dealerships are bad! Okay I will agree with the frame crap on the Glacier 2, but we need to focus here, a few things with some bikes, that is pretty common with most auto mfg. -- IMHO

I also second that Chuck on the alternetor is just doesn't keep up to the lights, winch and hand warmers when plowing at night.

And also with Caper on the plastic cage, whats up with that, I know that the front diff. is not built by Polaris, but I think they need to rethink the front diff thing, I like the way the AWD work but something needs to changed. If you have problems with it I think you can better help from Hilliard (That makes the diff.) Than you can with Polaris cause they just don't give a RATS A$$ about it</end quote></div>

Its not about do something about the weak plastic roller cage ,but why did they go there in the first place?

The old front locking hub systems never blew up into a million pieces.

Polaris makes things worts IMO. Look what they did with gas tanks.

A 2001 SP500 has a 5.25 gal tank.
A 2004 SP500 has a 4.75 gal tank.
A 2006 SP500 H.O has a 4.25 gal tank.
A 2006 SP500 EFI has a 4.13 gal tank

Go bigger not smaller like Arctic Cat did with gas tanks.

Other things.

The changed from a nice fined aluminum alloy oil tank to a cheap smooth plastic one.

They added that troublesome EMC brain Box in 04, what for? they run fine without them.

Change things for the better not for the worst, and not just for the sake of change.
