How bout an "Irid" in that NGK? [IMG][/IMG]

Go to this site, and put just that NGK plug number in the search. It returned plug "ILZKAR7A10" in NGK Iridium.

Club Plug</end quote></div>

Good find! I actually prefer the iridium..I e-mailed NGK and ask them that exact question..along with a few others...

I just ordered some from RockAuto..so we'll see if they work I guess..if I ever get them..lol..

Looks like it is the OEM plug for a Mercedes AMG so they should have them..and it should be the same, the 10 at the end is a plug gap spec AFAIK..I can gap irid plugs though...</end quote></div>

I tried the NGK web site & could not come up with either of these plug #'s also the plug listed for the AMG is listed as IFR6D10. I hope you guys can find something.

You have to look at the NGK Europe site..here is a quote from the site..

"Also within the DaimlerChrysler group, NGK's ILZKAR7A10 iridium spark plug has been chosen for OE fitment to the 365kW, 6.3-litre V8 power unit developed by AMG for use in high-performance derivatives of Mercedes models. In this case, the main requirement was for the slimmest possible spark plug with sufficient performance, in order to leave as much space as possible in the cylinder heads for both valves and coolant passages. To satisfy this need, NGK developed this new plug with a 12mm thread, but a 14mm hexagon and a slimmer ceramic insulator. The length remains 26.5mm. "

The guys at NGK think the nose may be too projected on the above plug for it too work..but I'm not too sure they have actually seen the Champion plug and they I imagine they are just going by specs which don't list overall length or nose projection...this is me hoping they are wrong..lol..
I'll let y'all know as soon as I get them.

BTW they also said it is closer to the 6 heat range than the 8..the chart I found put it between a Champion 7 and 8..guess you can't believe everything you see on the internet..who would have thought...

Ok after talking with the guys at NGK and doing some measuring on the stock plug I'm going to go out on a limb and say I am again 99% sure that the plug is going to work..they were mistaken about the Champion's projection.
Also if it does work we think we have come up with another plug that is equivlent to the Champion heat range 8..it is a Double Platinum plug..once I get the Iridium plugs and confirm everything I'll post up the number for the Platinums.
I asked NGK for an R&D commision(I was joking)....they offered me a 10% discount lol..

Even the Double Platinum will be miles better than the copper Champ... for sure. You deserve a commision... they will probably end up selling more plugs for XP's than they will for the AMG's. LOL

Well I got them and they are in the machine...the projection is the same..now to see how the heat range does..
I won't lie and say I can tell any difference in performance or idle quality but I do feel better knowing I have NGK plugs lol..
