Default 02 Sportsman AfterMarket Tires Help

I own a 2002 Sportsman and i just purchased some Maxxis Mud Bugs for it. I got them on but on the front it rubs a bit on the steering bar(not sure what the proper name is) It doesn't rub really bad but just a bit. Is there any way that you can make that bar like have an inch shorter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i might just leave it since it isn't to bad. Thanks in advance.

You can move the tie rod to the bottom of mounts on both inner and outer, you will have to alighn it after, or you can put a 3/8 washer on evry wheel stud and it should clear, you will still have enough thread on the studs.

Default Tires

Safest route to go is to get some wheel spacers. Check out the garage sale postings on the site homepage, eBay, or Highlifter.com. If you get the spacers make sure to buy some extra studs for them.

Default Spacers

Just checked the garage sale section and there is a set of 1" highlifter spacers on there for $100/offer. Probably worth checking out!

Ok thanks guys i will check that out. Ya i thought about getting spacers but i hear that it makes it weaker and the the tire will break off easy. Is this true or not? I just figured an inch wouldnt do that much. And i put 26s on it. They are a lot wider than the stock ones and the rear tires barely clear the suspension in the rear so hopefully i dont get a wobble haha. Thanks guys

Default Spacers

I had spacers on my 02 700 with a 2" lift, stock axles, and 27" tires and also on my 05 800 with 6" complete Gorilla lift/axles and 29.5" Outlaws. Mudded the ever-loving crap out of both machines with no weakness issues.

What kind of quad do you have xplorerman? I forget what i have on the front but i will let you know. But ya i think i might by spacers for all four tires. It only rubs on the front a tad and not enough to do any damage. Barely makes a mark on the tire even. So an inch spacer all around will give me all the space that i need and shouldn't create any weaknesses. Thanks guys
