Lift Kit problem
#11
Well I figured it out. I initially thought it was the left cv joint. So I tore it all down and check it out everything looked good so I put it back together and gave it a try. moved the machine 15' still doing it. so I back it back in and put it back on the lift. Started the bike and tried it in 2 wheel drive(on the lift) everything looked normal rear wheels engaged. Shifted into AWD and looked across at the left front wheel it looked good also, it was engaged. It was then that I looked down at the right wheel which seemed to be turning much slower. So I decided to see if I could stop the wheel with my hand. Well not only could I stop it, I could spin it backwards. So I got busy and stripped down the right shaft and what I found wasn't pretty. The spline on the end of the shaft going into the cv joint was virtually destroyed. then I got looking at the cv joint itself. 2 ball bearings where laying in the grease in the bottom and the cage was busted up bad. Needless to say I have a new shaft assembly on order and should have it back in service soon.
By the way I had a hell of a time getting the shaft out until I used the slide hammer method. I will take some photos of the method I came up with for attaching the slide hammer to the shaft. (it worked like a charm.)

just wondering, but i think you might have dislodged the cv when you installed the lift and when you rode it, it tore the splines up. i put a lift on my ac and could see how it could happen. when i had my polaris apart to try to repair the lower a arm bushings, i ended up dislodging one of the outer cv joints and didn't notice it until i went to put it back together and the front end was hanging up. i had a torn boot on the other side, so i decided to replace them all. when i tore it down, found the cv came apart inside the boot causing the front end to hand up. again, just a thought on the cause.
