Help 2005 sportsman stalls after 20 min
Need advice. My 2005 polaris sportsman . Stalls and will not start after riding just 20 minutes. Happens every time. After waiting 1 hr starts right up. I know it is not over heating and not a spark problem. Thinking it may be starving fuel. Any advice? It does have a carburator

EFI or carb?
Sounds like it could be vapor locking when it's warmed up. Check the routing of the fuel lines and try and keep them away from stuff that could be overheating the fuel.
Could be the fuel filter, fuel pump, or a bad fuel line hose?
It's also remotely possible that your spark plug(s) wire is really bad?

i don't think it would be either one of those, your etc is the sensor on ur throttle and ir ur throttle cable is too loose then it cuts ignition power, but if that were the case it would do it all the time, there is no t - bap sensor on ur machine since it's carbureted, when it dies, do u check for spark right after it dies, stators cause problems like that, they'll run for a while get hot and then the stator doesn't work. plug wires and coils can do the same thing

if its a carb then no t- sensors, and the etc wouldnt be doing it after you start riding as it would be doing it trying to take off or starting. did you check all the vent lines on the handle bars to make sure there not pinched or blocked? it does sound fuel related and if its running that long fine then guesing carb isnt dirty. make sure there is no pressure building up in the fuel tank(unscrew cap when it does it to see if pressure exscapes) and the other thing is maybe the fuel pump diapham is going bad or its loosing vacume. when it quits, unhook the fuel line from the pump to the carb to see if its still pumping fuel when when its being cranked over. just a couple of ideas.
