1998 Explorer 400 No Lights
I need some direction on a 1998 400 Explorer. The battery went dead from lack of use. Replaced the same. Battery maintains good charge. However, the problem is no headlight( high or low beam) and no tail light. If anyone has had this problem or can give a site with the wiring diagram, it would be greatly appreiciated.

did you test to see if theres any power to the lights or to the light switch? next thing my guess is to see if your getting power out of the stator wires to the lighting. imo
|
was it ran without a battery? sometimes that can pop bulbs.
|
I believe it was run without battery.....I haven't had a chance to get my voltmeter on it....plan is to start chasing back till I find power.....A wiring schematic would make it a bit easier.......there isn't a whole lot on a quad......

Check to see if its just the bulbs themselves. prolbably jsut blew bulbs.
|
It's the bulbs

if you did run this w/out a battery, there is a good chance for sure that the charging system overloaded the bulbs w/ voltage. just try to see if therees power to them or put new bulbs in w/ a battery in the bike.

Will do. Thanks for all the info....

blew my bulbs riunning it with a dead battery.

Ok Bulbs are toast.....Anyone have cross-ref lists so I can get them at auto parts store????
Will need 2 low beam , one high beam and a taillight..........I can only imagine waht Polaris wants for the bulbs????? Thanks, Eric |
