Will 26x9x12 ITP 589's fit on the front of polaris sportsman ?

Will 26x9x12 ITP 589's fit on the front of my 99 sportsman 500 4x4 without rubbing the struts or tie rod ends ?? If not, what do i need to do to make them work ?

Yes they will fit, they will rub a little on the fender mud flaps in full compression

Rick

I forgot that my wheels are offset about an inch outward from stock,

ronsfun96gt May 23, 2009 02:08 PM

ok, so you are saying yours rubs with the wheels being offset about 1" ?

Is that 1" offset per wheel or both total ?

So, mine will rub tremendously with 26x9x12 589's & stock wheels, right?? Thanks, Ron

Does anyone make a 1/2" spacer ?

1" per sided, my total width is 50".

the tires only rub during full compresion at the lower front fender flare i attached side view.
the heavy duty snow plow front spring would help.

i think ive seen 3/4" spacers before.

ronsfun96gt May 24, 2009 01:34 PM

I would like to stay as narrow as possible. Dont want too much mud being thrown over the fenders.............guess im gettin old !! 3/4" would be nice. When I use my polaris for hunting, there are alot of trees that I can BARELY go between now. Thx

I now about the whole gettin old thing, I've actually pulled off the 26 589s and went back to
25" holeshot ATRs, these have proven themselves to be a better tire in mud, snow and rocky hardpack and take allot less power to turn.

Yeh I actually wanted to stay with 25's but its getting hard to find wide aggressive tires that will fit on polaris stock wheels, so i went to 26's
