I was out riding this weekend and noticed that my quad wasnt running to great and had been not great for a while .So I thought it might be needing a tune up but its only 4months old so I took it apart and sore enough the problems appeared :the carb was only resting on the intake all the oil lines were just over hand tight and begining to leak. the coolant line runs over the oil return pipe and are cutting through each other and require over braids.Dont get me wrong I love this machine, but someone in quality control is letting the team down is it the dealer or the factory .Had I ridden on a long dusty trail the motor would of leaned and likely seized. If you own a 2000sc500 I suggest you go through it and check things .Its unfortunate that these little things let a great machine down .
Hope this averts any problems for others.

The factory is to blame the only part the dealer has in puting atv's together is the tires they just bolt them on and push the machine onto the sales floor.

I bought brand 2000 400 2x4 last January. I found a loose fuel line and the carb was ready to fall off. after going through the whole machine--everything seems to be fine. I beat my quad therefore I work on it alot too. It's best to have a routine check of certain things before riding. It will save alot of headaches.
