Default Sportsman 500 overheating

Hey guys, wow. It has been a year and a half since I have visited these forums. Anyways, I just got done pumping My 2003 Sportsman 500 H.O's liquid cooling system with water to make sure nothing is stopped up. Its not. Also made sure the water pump was working. It is. There is no thermostat. Took it out about a year ago. Anybody know what else may be causing the overheating? The coolant will start spewing out from the the reserve reservoir. Last time I checked, the fan is working as well.

A new cap? Really?

How would that affect anything? <---Being serious, not sarcastic or other tone.

If it has air in line will pump out reservoir, just run with cap off until fan kicks on,then replace cap. IF still shoots out and fan working and no hot light, replace radiator cap as mentioned above, cap seal may be bad allowing to by pass. Good luck OPT
