Default looking for scrambler 4x4 information

Hi everyone

I'm new here, and i'm looking for an ATV and the scrambler seem to fit the bill. With my budget, i'm looking the 90's model. I want to know what are the difference between different years, mainly for the 400. I know that the internet is pretty efficient to spread horrors story, so I'd like to know if the reliability issue are really that bad. I'm soon to be 28, i've had bike, trike, sled, i'm mechanically inclined and I know how to take care of an offroad vehicle (especially 2 stroke and CVT)

The 400 is appealing to me because with reasonable tweeking, it can get powerful enough to be enjoyable.

You buy a 400 Scrambler plan on rebuilding the top end if it doesnt already have a Wiesco piston in it.That is the weak point and the stock piston will break. It is not if but when it will break.Just figure about $300 more to have a topend done or $200 to do it yourself

Why not buy a 500HO? I Have one for sale It does about 60+ and is a blast to take on the trails or through the mudd. Let me know its a 2008 and it has a epi clutch kit rear rack and 2 set of wheels and tires one for mudding and the stockers for trail riding?

No comparison in 400 and 500s if you want power and speed get the 400 and do what it takes to get it right
