I'm lookin at buying a 02 700 with 500 mile's on it. It look's to be in great shape. Any thing I should know about since it's the first year for the V-Twins. I like the fact that it's a carb and I like the front diff set-up with the fluid and the u-joint's rather than the cv's at the front diff. I will primarily have this as a back-up bike until I unload the 800. I would keep this over my 800, as the back-up because I can work on it more than an efi.

Thank's for any input

I've heard of those bikes with 3 or 4,000+ miles trouble free, IMO they are pretty solid bikes from what I've heard, and 500 miles is great for an 02

If you don't mind me askin, how much do they want for it?

I recently purchased an 02 SP700 for short money $2800 with 690 miles on it. I like it, it runs nice, not quite as fast as my Prairie 650 was buts its OK. A few things I understand you have to watch out for, dry rotted/cracked rubber intake manifolds causeing backfiring poor running condition. Speedometer not working (I had that pretty quick) Hall effect sensor. Make certain you run the correct fluids as putting the wrong fluid in the front diff will cause it to malfunction. Greese every fitting, mine started makinga a squeeking noise from the front, turns out every bushing (like 21 greese zerks) were pretty dry. I guess the exhaust manifolds can crack. Thats all I can think of.

Have Fun
