changed ignition and now won't pull start???

i bought a 2001 polaris trailblazer battery was bad but pull started easy. guy also lost the key so he drilled the ignition or somethin so somehow it would start. so i replaced the battery and ignition. so now i have power and lights come on and go to start and i just get a loud click by the battery i think maybe the relay?? well anyway i just figured i'd keep pull starting it so i go to start and nothing!!!??? i don't get why now it won't even pull start?? any help would be great thanks....

sounds like maybe the starter is bad. w/ key on try jumping the 2 big wires on the relay(solenoid) by the battery. if it still clicks then it's the starter is the issue. as far as the ignition, it may be it is either hooked wrong or maybe some how he has grounded it out. also check the kill switch to make sure it's on and working.

i don't know what i did but i just pulled and pulled and pulled and finally it started up. so now i have that issue fixed. i'm hopin that the relay is just bad instead of the whole starter. so how exactly do i jump the two wires together? and what will that do? sry i'm not the best mechanic i kinda just teach myself as i go. haha.

thanks

The best and safest way is to use a starter button, they can be picked up cheap at any parts house chain store. The other alternative is a screwdriver if you can short the posts, but be carefull !!!!

ok i'll look into one of those. would the screwdriver way shock the piss outta me or somethin?? and i ordered off ebay another relay off a trailboss anyway but it looks like its the same one....hopefully it will work???

No, not a shock you can get a burn if not carefull, due to arcing. good luck
