washer behind wheels

got my new tires for my 550 xp and of course they hit sway bar just a touch don't really want spacers so i put 2 washers behind the wheels which give me a little extra clearance . the washers are as large as the contact area where the wheels touched before and after starting the lug nuts i still got a good 4 or 5 rotations of the lug nuts. i had borrowed a set of 1.5 inch spacers from a friend then went riding a little and on a slow ride still haven't found all the mud it threw around and on me.I guess my main question is, is this safe and will it do any damage?

Did you try this bending the swaybar?http://forums.atvconnection.com/pola...rear-xp-5.html

Washers are not the correct install IMO Why! It leaves a gap that puts stress on the wheel, wheel studs! Billet Aluminum wheel spacers if you still want to go this way on ebay or your local machine shop.

one more thing how long does it have to sit or just take it to about 22inches center to center then release?

i agree putting washers on isn't the best but people have done it to get by.
