'10 550X2....Help

Yep, sure will. I also noticed my camber (I think that's what you would call it) looks slightly off after my vigorous ride. Surprises me. I didn't slam into anything particularly hard. I am actually easy on stuff. I did bump a tree/stump or two on the ride. Certainly nothing to mess things up....but I guess maybe it did? I saw that my stock steel rims had some minor dents in the outer lip area. Just one in the front and one in the rear. This also surprises me as I didn't hit anything any harder than a simple bumping. Boy, so far I'm not so sure this ATV is as tough as they say they are. The front end felt a bit light also.

You are right, on the XPs if the check engine indicator is not on then you can not pull any codes..this is to stop people from getting worried about a transient temporary problem that is no longer present. No check engine indicator, no symptoms...ride it and don't sweat it...not worth the trip to the dealer as it is unlikely they will find anything wrong...
My 850 tripped the check engine a couple of times, apparently caused by me slipping the belt(32" tires lol),I turned it off and back on...indicator was gone. If it comes back on and STAYS on after turing it off and back on....then worry about it.

Happened to me once after a deep cleaning with my black 850XP. I was loading it on my side load trailer & the check engine light came on while it was on a angle. As soon as I backed down, turned it off and on again it was gone. It never happened again. To be fair I also had a issue with my brand new Rincon with the light right after I purchased it. It was a one time thing also. Don't remember the code but nothing was wrong with it. Sometimes I think there are way too many computer parts on atvs today.

might just be your throttle free play that made it come on temporarily. You have to set the free play differently on xps then on regular sportsmans and if its off it will turn on check engine light. If its under warranty get it checked out if not i wouldnt worry about it till it stays on

My 550xp check engine light came on when i got it home from the dealer, when it did i shut down the motor then tried to restart nothing.dealer installed a winch and the bolt on the battery was not tight...

Well, I hope it's just a lose connection or something. I would say forget it and not even take it in if I wasn't concerned about what the hidden codes may reveal. I'd like to know for sure just what happened and not get a ' it's just a glitch' answer.
As for the camber issie with the fron end? Well, I'll have them check it out. I'm sure I'll be expected to pay for that since it's an adjustment. Still surprised that it went out of alignment during it's first real ride.

I had a 96 ford F-150 that had the "Check Engine" light on for 3 years but the truck ran great, then finally one day it went out on its own, I drove it another 2 years and sold it. I still wonder some days what that "Check Engine" light was all about.
Moisture in the brain box maybe?

I'll be dropping it off on friday so I should know more by monday I would hope.
The three things I want them to look at are:
1. Check Engine warning indicator codes....why did it come on and what is the solution.
2. Front end camber/alignment looks off.
3. Noticed a fairly loud gear grinding noise when the ADC is activated.
Let's see if they have a good service department or not.

Well....just got my Polaris X2 back from the dealer. I was thankful they kicked **** and got it done in 24hrs. Anyway....they said the engine indicator light came on because of a loose connection that was causing a voltage issue. They tightened it up and said it should not give me any more issues. One thing they asked though that was odd was if I had hooked up two wires in preparation to install a winch. I told them no, and that I haven't done anything with any wires or connections. Heck, I haven't even changed the oil yet as it's only got a few hours on it. They said that these wires should not have been hooked up as there was no winch tied into the other end of the wires. Anyway, I told them to ask Polaris why some moron hooked up 'wires to nothing'....because it sure wasn't me. No big deal though....they said it didn't cause my engine indicator to light up.
They adjusted the alignment after noticing it was indeed off a bit. The ADC seemed normal to them and said that they do make a very slight gear meshing sound if you listen real closely. They ride these things all the time and said it wasn't out of the ordinary. I agree after listening to others with this feature (I don't like it though and can't stand the gear noise nor the grab it gives....I prefer to use my own skills with brakes and low range).
After all that, they said that of course there would be no charge (even for the alignment) since it is still under warranty.
