trailboss trans
could someone please tell me what trans fluid I can sub for the polaris brand on my scrambler and trailboss?

For no more than it uses, I've always just stuck with the Polaris brand. I have heard of some people using 30w motor oil and claiming no problems, but have not tried that myself so I can't say it's a fact.
Are you just draining and replacing the fluid? There's enough in one quart to do both quads. |
i found this page https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/tcc.aspx

I use full synthetic snowmobile chain case oil. Any brand thats around It has the same specs that a polaris tranny requires.
|
My 1990 trail boss owners manual says to use 30w motor oil for the tranny I don`t know about your scramy
|
I use 5w30 Castrol Syntec in the engines and tranny's of all my bikes, have for years never had any problems.
|
I would think motor oil would be a bit on the thin side to use in the tranny. Chain case oil is thicker, and there is a chain and grears in the Polaris tranny, like the in Polaris's sled trannies which use chain case oil.

most tranny fluid is 10w-30
all they du is add a red dye to it
|
Castrol Syntec 5w50 works fine.
