Flooded crank case

I recently picked up a Predator 500, going through it lil by lil to make sure she is 100%, took it out for a shake down run last night.....And found in issue, don't know if it was my dumm A$$, or a potential problem.

The line coming off the crank case going to the air box was POURING FUEL in to air box, like half a gallon. Hence the crank case was flooded. NASTY BLACK LIQUID THAT SMELLED OF FUEL.

Now to the causes.....I am thinking I did not push in the choke the night I was running her, she did not have the PUNCH off the line all night, thought that was weird. Could that have flooded the crank case?

Is there any other reason for the crank to get that flooded??????

Another thing that might cause your problem could be a sticking or bad float in the carb.

ya try to check the float level.

SHEEEEESH......didn't even think of that. I ran her again tonight.....Problem did not surface....But a carb cleaning is now on the docket.

thanks

needle and seat probably out of it, while your in there you may as well replace them both, save you pullin that carb apart again, turn the gas off when you park it and it won't do that again :)

Yeah I'd say it is a needle seating problem.
My GSXR750 did the same thing. Little piece of debris on the needle. MAde a big mess and for some reason it took us way to long to diagnose.
