Default Transmission drain plug hits chain

I've noticed on my 08 sportsman 800 that my transmission drain plug hits my transmission chain and rattles. I have pics and I have already cut my plug down with a dremel. I put cold blue on it and reinstalled it. Went riding and It was slot quieter, but it still drags over plug. My question is .. Is there a transmission chain adjustment to tighten the chain?

if you did a search you would have seen a few post on this and i put a pic as well showing the plug. there is no adjustment for the chain. i know its extremly loose(hence why its rubbing on the plug)

Scary! I need to check mine too. Does all of this fall under the normal Sportsman feature of the knocking noise? lol..lol

Stendori, is your pic showing it already grinded down or is it the damage it has took? I would suspect that mine is the same as yours at least?

Thanks,

R'

R' I don't think that's the Popo knock, but it sure doesn't keep it quiet

Thumbs down Silent Chain

My 07 800 did the same thing. Mine happened so fast that it was still under the 6 month warranty. Only had 300 mile's on it. My dealer replaced it under warranty, said they never saw that before, c'mon. I now have 1500 miles on machine and it has done it again, I guess the Silent chain will keep streching until it wear's a hole thru the case.

Oh well, live and learn, that's why I'm switching brand's next time
