Help with Polaris's
 

Hey guys. I'm looking at a couple of Polaris's and I have to admit, I'm not really in the know on quads (I ride crotch rockets) and I'm looking for some positives/negatives on both bikes, what to watch out for, and if the asking prices are fair. I appreciate any information you guys can provide.

I've ridden maybe a handful of times recently, and me and the woman have been looking to pick up a quad or two, to fart around on the trails with. Wont be doing anything crazy with them, just some riding thru the woods for something to do. We like the automatics because of the simplicity, no switching gears, blah blah blah.

First one I'm looking at is a 2000 Scrambler 400 2x4. DG exhaust. Really nice shape and well maintained. Ready to ride. Asking price is $1350. Would $1100 be a lowball offer for it?

Second one is an 03 Trailblazer 250. Needs the back brakes bled (air in the lines) and tie rod ends. Has had new rear carrier bearings, stearing stem bushings, v-force reeds, jetted carb for the slip on. Asking $1100

Being that they're both 2 strokes, with easy use, how often will the top end need rebuilt? With the T-Blazer, how difficult is it to replace the tie rod ends and bleed the rear brakes? I have basic mechanical knowledge, but if you asked me to put a motor back together, be prepared to wait:lol:

The 400 is a good deal at 1100. The 250 pales in comparison to the 400.
Check to see that the counterbalancer has oil in it and not making any racket. Check the swingarm and rear axle carrier by wiggling side to side. If all is ok you should be good to go.

X2 Go for the 400! When running properly will be a smoking ride!

Good deal..I'll check into that. I'm taking a friend of mine that has more quad knowledge than I'd ever know what to do with, to aid in the inspection of them. Obviously, I want to ride it and not have a garage queen thats always under the wrench. Thanks for the heads up on the swingarm and rear axle :thumbsup:

I hear ya. I'd prefer the 400 over the 250 becuz, well...its a 400. :lol:

Thing about the two-fitty is its light! Hypereasy to steer,i can spin around like mad for long time effortlessly,,,,,,,,,

i was just wondering if somone could help me i have a 03 polaris trail blazer it will start with the rope but not the key (if i crank the hec out of it some times it will start ) new battery plug fuel filter cleaned all the conectors
