2002 Sportsman 500 Problem

I have a 2002 500 and i cant seem to find out what is wrong with it. It starts fine and idles, but as soon as you give it and throtle it starts missin and farting around. Has anyone came across this problem before? I have checked all the boots and clamps and they seem to be good. I cleaned the carb out. Pulled the fuel pump apart and cleaned it. Seems to be pumping fuel. Im not sure where to look from here? Also if you leave the key on without it running the lights start flashing as if there is a circuit breaker cutting in and out. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

try checking the etc on the throttle to make sure it's set correctly w/ an air gap of 1/8" as it will kick the override in. have you checked the voltage output? just wondering if maybe a bad ground or not charging correctly is making the lights act funny. also just check the connections on the lighhts and switch.

ok will check that out. As far as the grounds and charging system it all seems to be fine. Anything else i could be looking at?

Thanks

if it acts the same way now as say when you would back up in reverse w/ the override not pushed in and it starts sputting then i would say you have found the issue.
