winch question

Default winch question

when i push the button the winch just clicks. i went over everything but still does the same thing any ideas whats wrong ???

I`m guessing you may have a bad relay. try jumping 1 at a time and see if that gets it to run if it does test relay. might need replaced.

Make sure all your connections are clean and tight. Most likely to be the solenoid depending on which winch. Does it have a can type solenoid or black contactor??

The winch itself shouldn't click, the motor will either turn or it won't.

LOL I had my own wires crossed. I meant to say solenoid rather than relay. my bad

if the connections are good and full battery then the contactor is most likely bad. its not that uncommon and if you do a search you will find alot posts on it.

maybe it's time to take the winch apart, give it a good cleaning and some lube. they are NOT sealed units

take a test light check for ground and power at the winch and work back...
