06 outlaw 500 won't stay running
 

I'm looking at an 06 outlaw 500 to purchase. The owner says that it will start and run as long as he holds down the start button, as soon as he releases the start button the quad will shut off. Any ideas before i go out and look at it.

OK I have an update, I went out to look at the Outlaw and I bought it....(I have a problem) ;-) The guy said it wouldn't run unless the start button was held down, I got there and it wouldnt start at all. I put a set jumper cables on it and jumped the starter solinoid and it fired right up and idled fine. I loaded it up and brought it home. I then got a shop manual and went through all of the wiring, at this point the starter button would not work at all but the quad would start if you jump the solinoid. I went through every wire and found one wire that was loose in the main connection plug. I pushed the wire back into the connector and replace the plug. Then I hit the start button and BINGO she runs like a charm. I have since replaced the battery with a new one and everything seems to be working as it should.

Hope you got a sweet deal since it wouldn't start. Got to love running across those every now and then. Nice to see it was an easy fix instead of a basket case.

Yup, Pretty sweet deal. Now the problem is that I can't stop ordering aftermarket parts for it......bumpers, grab bars, exhaust,filters.
