Watch those 850 XP'S when starting below freezing!!!!
hey guys just heard of another 2011 850 Xp that froze the PCV and blew out the plug only had 16 miles i just want everyone to be real careful when starting these things when it is below freezing cause not all dealers will cover these things when it happens, on a better note my dealer was on the phone with polaris today and there is ANOTHER updated PCV being released that is supposed to have a kind of presseure release built in. Amazing only three years in and they finally figure it out, o well better late than never, just be careful and get your dearlers to get on the phone and get those New PCV's ordered and coming as soon as they are available.

When mine is below 32f I pop the oil plug to keep pressure from building up.
But mine is always in a garage thats kept around 35 40f I wonder if that update from Polaris will be a recall item. |
not sure seems to me they are content to let the warranty run out and take the chance the customer won't bother and fix it themselves,

PCV fix
So do we call the dealer,or is this a cheap part we can install ourselves???Where is it located?Thanx.
|
the install is easy, but i'm sure you will have to call the dealer to get it, the PCV is located right underneath the seat on the right side towards the front of the ATV
|
looks like all the parts are around $40.00, going to get mine today, have to take the old one with me but dealer is paying for parts

I just e-mailed my dealer to see if I can get a new valve before mine blows out.
The machine isn't as much fun to ride in the cold now all i think about it is popping that stupid plug. |
I agree just not worth blowing that plug gonna wait till I have the new ones or it's 40 degrees out
