big problem need opinions fast

ok so I Havnt been able to get my predator to run and today I took it to a shop. they said the timing chain tensioner screw came out and they don't know the extent of the problem. what sort of damage am I looking at here? they say they have to pull the top end and get into the bottom end to see what it did. can that pop the chain off and destroy anything inside?

I've never been inside a pred but if the timing chain has alot of slack it could very well jump any number of teeth on either the top or the bottom. That in itself could be bent/broken valves or a custom compression release hole in your piston
. If the chain jumped off the cam sprocket and wadded up down around the crank it could be any number of horrible things... BUT if the motor stopped turning in time, it could be just a simple check it out and reassemble with a new tensioner. kinda putting it at both ends of the spectrum but it could really be either or anywhere in between.

If everything still turns over, which I'm assuming it does because your trying to start it, you likely just need a new tensioner and to check your valve timing. If you have any mechanical confidence at all I'd go at it yourself. Best of luck!
