Default Drive belt to loose?

I got my clutch spring changed today and noticed that the belt had been hitting or rubbing against the cover on the bottom. I don't know how tight the belt is suppose to be but should it hit the cover? When I first start it cold I can hear it hit until I rev it up. Is this normal? When it's warm I notice nothing.

OEM belt or aftermarket? A lot of the older models would do this in neutral. If what I'm thinking it's just "belt flex" You can throttle up in neutral and as it comes back down to an idle the belt would expand or flex in the middle of the belt and either hit the top or bottom of the cover. Mainly because it's in a no load situation. Also when the clutches and belt "warm up' a little, most of this goes away. OPT

not sure about the newer bikes but w/ ebs usually the belt runs fairly tight and w/ no hitting.
