GOOD MORNING ALL,
SOME OF YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING FOR A NEW ATV HERE IN THE FORUMS, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP SO FAR! I HAVE PRETTY MUCH DECIDED THAT THE MAGNUM 500 IS THE WAY FOR ME TO GO, (HOWEVER THE NEW KODIAK LOOKS REAL NICE). I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OF THE DEALERS IN EASTERN CAROLINA, AND SOUTHERN VA,(ALL CONVERSATIONS BY PHONE SO FAR, SO THAT IS PART OF THE LACK OF SOLID INFO PROBALLY) AND CANT GET ANY SOLID INFO ON UP COMING DEALER INCENTIVE PROGRAMS, AND HAVE GOTTEN A WIDE RANGE OF "INITIAL" PRICES. I WILL PROBALLY GET A 99, AS THERE DOSENT SEEM TO BE ANY CHANGES FOR 2000. WHAT KIND OF OUT THE DOOR PRICE SHOULD I LOOK FOR, BEFORE SALES TAX. ALSO HAS ANYONE HAD A DEALER GIVE THEM ANY FIRM INFO ON THE INCENTIVES. HAD ONE TELL ME THAT THE GUN GIVE A WAY, LIKE LAST YEAR, WOULD START UP IN AUGUST. ANOTHER SAID $250 IN ACCESORIES, AND A THIRD SAID PROBALLY A WINCH AGAIN. I CAN WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR SO, IF IT IS WORTH IT, AS I STILL HAVE THE SCRAMBLER TO RIDE, BUT THAT NEW QUAD FEVER DOES GET YOU GOING.
AGAIN, THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP,

Ken,
I heard a commerical the other day where they are giving up Remington rifles right now... Maybe they ought to give up a rifle, winch, and some free accessories.

Ken, I don,t know exactly where you live but it sounds like you may be in N.C. . I am near Lake City S.C. We have a great dealer here largest volume dealer in S.C. I have found them to be very reasonable on their pricing compared to polaris dealers. I think you said elsewhere in this forum that you have a farm. Here in S.C. I have purchased 3 ATVS and Paid no sales tax because I use them on my Farm. Farm equipment is sales tax exempt here in S.C. you may want to check this where you live. As for the Magnum 500 I think you have made an excellent choice I rode mine 4hours yesterday scouting crops and could have kept on riding. Keep in mind that the msrp of the 500 magnum is lower by $200.00 than the Honda 450 ES and has a few more features. It is also comparable in price to other 400- 500 class machines. Really enjoy mine if you have any questions please feel free to ask will check from time to time.

I too am looking to buy a Magnum in a few months. I am really impressed with the looks and how I have heard it performs. I have talked to a few dealers and the one I'm thinking of going with has quoted me $6,ooo. I live in Missouri and you can also get a quad tax exempt for farm use and that is what I'm doing. I have heard from this dealer that Polaris is having some sort of incintive program in Jan or Feb, but I'm not waiting that long. He has also told me that Polaris was giving good deals on extended warrenties starting in July or Aug but I havn't talked to him for a few weeks so any info would be great on that subject. I can't wait for mine!! Just a few more $$!!

In the local paper yesterday, I saw the fall incentive program add. I haven't seen it on the Polaris website yet, but here are the details. With a bigger bike- 425 and up, mostly utility bikes, you get $250 in accessories or a Remington 870 shotgun. For $79, you can get a 700 ADL synthetic stock 30-06 rifle. They must have given away a bunch last year, because last fall, the 30-06 was free, no $79 extra. With a smaller bike, you get $250 in accessories or a remington semi-automatic .22. That was how the ad read. It was a flyer type printout that looks similar to the last Polaris incentive bulletin. It is effective July 31 through November 1.

Ken: Paid $6487.00 out the door, tax, license dealer prep and options as they say on tv! I could have waited for the fall promotion to come around but I figure I still got a pretty good deal considering it came with bumpers and rack extenders too!

I would just like to know if anyone has any more info on Polaris incentives or special deals. I would like to know if the deal on 250 worth of accessories or gun deal is being run all over the country. Any info will help me out a lot. Thanks!!

I realize this is an old thread, but here's a little more info on Magnum 500 prices. Dealer invoice for the '99 model last fall and winter was $5,399. They probably have not increased that cost since the introduction of the '99 models. So use that as your leverage point, and good luck.
