Takes a 520 o-ring chain. NEED your year model as to the # of links needed. Every year was a little different on lengths. Plus most shops can either cut bulk chain or pre boxed chains down to your length needed.Don't go cheap on the chain as far as a plain non o ring chain. It wont last. RK,Regina,DID are good name brand replacements.Plus always check the sprockets if they need replacing, especially the front one.Best if you replace all as a set,but depends on the wallet..

Here's a 2000 model for illustration.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Yes the rear sprocket is replaceable.Look on the lower left front frame, should be a 17 digit vin # that can help you find out your year model.

And it was just the master that broke. I'm gona get a link puller and a 2$ Master link. But I'm just worried that the reason it the chain was skipping because the drive sprocket that actually powers the rear chain is worn down, and not replaceable

Have the cylinder measured and bore to the next size over to clean up the bore.Plus it must have NO up and down play on the rod(side to side play is ok) or the crank shaft would have to have a new rod kit and bearings.
I have a question; could it be a spark plug?
