So yesterday i loaded up the sportsman after a couple hour ride and noticed this piece laying on the trailer. so what the heck is it, and where does it go? i want to put it back. lol
kind of hard to tell but one side is slightly different than the other. one's more dipped in and the other has a slight slope towards the inside.

Pen for relative size reference.

You sure somebody didn't throw something on the trailer? Whatever it is it didn't break, looks like it just fell off.Only thing I can possibly think of is the bottom roller on the brake lever, but it's metal if I remember correctly and this piece is too large. More like a busing or spacer on the linkage, plus they did have spacers on the old clutch backing plates up against the tranny, but if someone had dropped it from the factory,it should have been gone years ago..

Looks like a guide roller from a garage door.

there was literally nobody out there when we (took my 5 yr old nephew) were out.

I agree that it looks like it just fell off and not something broke. i mean the piece is solid and barely worn and i figured it'd be some kind of bushing. I've got brake trouble. they dont work. and leak.

are you talking about the brake linkage- foot to the rear brake?
and I'll try to get in there and see if i can tell anything around the clutches.

It just threw me off when i saw it sitting there on trailer.

:yup: Not the foot brake but the small rollers on the brake handle, but I know they're metal and much smaller. It's just a bushing/spacer that I can't track down right now,if ever?....

Well The trailer sits under a pine tree and the sportsman is kept in a shop with hinged doors....

So i guess i Probably shouldn't worry then huh?

If it runs and stops,I wouldn't worry..
