I have a clean low hour 2008 X2 800LE that I bought new.

I always have to keep the battery charger on it, as the machine will not charge the battery at all. At idle it has 12.20 volts and it goes down if I rev it and down even more if I turn on the headlights.

Is the alternator on this thing an easy repair?

 

Most of the time it's a faulty regulator/rectifier located at the front of the machine.
