Polaris tracks ripped apart by ice!?

My father bought a low mileage 850 EPS with a set of tracks. The problem is that what I can only guess are molding holes located right on the bogey wheels tracks are getting packed with slush that expends, seeps through the cracks and blow up the tracks. It also makes for an extremely rough ride when they are filled with ice.

Anyone else have had this issue? Virtually all the molding holes have been torn apart like this. It seems like a flawed design to me, why put mold holes right on the wheel path?

Here's on of the tracks (they are all torn):

Here you can see one of the intact holes on the left and 2 ripped ones on the right:

Here's another 3 ripped apart:

Those get filled with wet snow and turn to ice every time it gets cold, further ripping the tracks apart while making the ride really harsh.

Anyone else with this problem?

Only seen a few on tracks and haven't heard of that happening. Most have had good wear out of them. This is about 5-6 I've talked to.

Looks like they may have either been defective or maybe sat too long/weathered. Never seen this happen with them.

Looks like the Polaris OE Tracks made by SOUCY/KIMPEX but not sure. They had problems with one model that looked like that. One guy, username "wolverine" on UTUBE posed a vid of what caused the problem & the link below is abouT some design problems with KIMPEX & service problems. Gppd Luck & this is not a common problem with ALL tracks,

I am having the same issue with ripped Polaris tracks.

I have attached a picture of a ripped track
another picture of a track starting to rip
another picture of the actual Polaris track setup
and the final picture to show that these are not old and worn out tracks as you can still see the nipples on the side of the track!

These tracks are on a 2014 RZR 800 with a total of 1700 km on it, and most of the driving was with tires NOT THE TRACKS.

Needless to say I am not happy with this issue and I have been told that I have to pay $1700 PER TRACK TO REPLACE arggggggggggg not happy.

PS: I have 2 800 RZR's in my yard and was happy with their product.
If they cannot help me with my track issue it might be time to go back to Yamaha!

Subscribing for outcome.
Yes, they look defective. Shouldn't be tearing up like that. Rubber is supposed to be more durable than that.
Some tracks are "winter only". Maybe they were used by the prev owner in the summer mud?

Just noticed this was originally posted Feb 2014. What was the final turnout Crazyced?

Crazyced only made that one post and disappeared from sight. He may be lurking but I suspect he's gone.

Those holes in the tracks serve a purpose. they allow the dirt and crap to push through the track and not destroy the drive wheel. Looking at the picture it looks like it was parked and froze up and tore. All track machines have that feature and just like heavy equipment you have to make sure they are cleaned out and not frozen before moving it or they will do that.. iv ripped tracks fright off a skid steer by not checking first

Tracks freezing on the ground

This issue is most likely caused by tracks freezing on the ground because that morning it was frozen hard in the dirt....

Thank you all for the input...
