Are there any aftermarkets that are more desirable than others if it comes to that?

Probably all the same no matter where you get one as most will be Chinese. Have heard a couple good reports on the non ebs Ace replacement clutches along with the recoils assemblies they make for Polaris.

I have a 2001 sportsman 500 that I need to replace the primary clutch , do you have any more feedback on these aftermarket clutches /

Big Frank, thank you for the link.
I recently purchased a used sportsman and while researching different things many posts from the "old polaris tech" came up. I began to really look forward to his posts and now am very sorry to learn of his passing.
RIP Monte and thank you for sharing all your wisdom and experience.

You're welcome. OPT was a great guy and we all miss him. He truly was the master of Polaris ATVs.
