Default 01 scrambler 500 axle problem

I have a 2001 scrambler 5oo that I bought used, I have had for a couple years, I am replacing the axle bearings and had to cut the axle nut off. Bearing replaced and got a new axle nut now the problem evidently someone has replaced the axle with an aftermarket axle. The stock axle nut is about 3 thousandths to small and the axle is 3 inches longer than a stock axle, took it to the dealer and they confirmed it wasn't stock.

So there are no markings on it, How can I find out who made it so that I can get an axle nut that will fit it? I have done some searches but no stand outs for after market manufacturers. Any Ideas on what to do at this point.?

Several different brands of aftermarket axles. Durablue was one that was very popular. Don't know if this the one you have. What about the axle nut on the other side? You can always take it to any good hardware store such as Ace and match it up.If you keep this after market axle and it's longer than the stock one. You may have to do like the older models that had double axle nuts. One to lock the other one tight. You may not be able to keep the nut retainer caps and circlips that the stock axle has, "if" you do still happen to have them.Going back to a stock axle is about $200 if you choose that path.
