Head lights and brake lights won't work
I have a 2012 Polaris sportsman 500 carb. Yesterday I took the cab and pod off, when I was putting the pod back on I hooked up the cigarette lighter wrong and blew a fuse. After I hooked up it up correctly and replaced the fuse I can't get the brake lights, high beams or the headlights to come on. Everything else is working and I can't find a loose connection. I'm not sure where to go from here.
Thank you in advance! |
Check the fuse holder bottom itself. This was a common area for wires to vibrate loose, but in your case you may have melted the connections underneath when things shorted out. Plus trace wiring from the fuse holder back into the main harness along with wiring connections at the headlight, another area that was subject to shorts. All it takes is a faulty ground wire also to create problems. Tracing shorts isn't fun, takes patience and persistence.

Thank you for the quick response. I will start tracing wires.

It was the bottom of the fuse holder. I knew it couldn't be anything too serious. I can't thank you enough
