New Shocks on Polaris 300

Recently my shocks on the front of my 1994 Polaris 300 4x4 started leaking so i replaced them with brand new kimpex ones. I also did the cv boots while i was down there. I put the shocks back in, and pushed them right to the bottom of the strut and whenever i bounce on the front it feels like the shock is bottoming out. And it doesn't spring back up. Then when i tried to drive it, it would steer me left or right, after i backed up and then went forward again it would change from side to side and sometimes it would be fine. Seems like my 4x4 is kicking in for no reason just out of nowhere.

Torque the hub nut to 12 foot pounds? Even if you did an armature plate on one side may be magnetized and allowing the hilliard to engage. Cheap as they are I'd pull the hubs and install new ones.Common for this to happen over time. Plus always use Demand Drive hub fluid.http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Armature-Plate-for-Polaris-5211148-Sportsman-Scrambler-Magnum-1989-2009-/171549189657?hash=item27f120e619&vxp=mtr

OK I'll try some new plates, but what about my shocks bottoming out? It feels like the shock hits the bottom of the cylinder.

You can raise the cartridges up from the bottom of the strut a couple inches and see if it helps. If it doesn't help on bottoming out, then could be weak worn springs.
