Polaris trailboss 250 e/s rebuilt carb without leaking...BUT
 

I finally rebuilt the carb on my polaris 250 trail boss. A Mikuni VM 2 stroke. Previously after I cleaned it, as soon as i turn on the fuel line it leaked. I just bought/used a rebuild kit and it didn't leak at all.

I have no pull start or working electric start. I'm just using a torque drill. I got it started many times before like this. The carb starts leaking out of the overflow valve as I'm turning by hand, or trying to crank it with a torque drill. The leaking stops after about 10 minutes.

It wont rotate neither. It will only rotate once before it gets so hard to rotate again my torque drill has a hard time getting it to rotate again and I have to quit trying because the darn thing is over heating/smoking. After it breaks free it easily turns, till it gets to about 360 degrees than it gets hard to turn.

So I have a clean carb, freshly rebuilt. Only leaks from the overflow valve When I try to crank it by hand or with a torque drill, and it only will rotate once before it gets stuck after almost one full rotation. Any ideas? Don't be too technical. I don't know much terminology and so far all I've accomplished to do with a motor is rebuilding and cleaning the carb ;)

Yes,fix the recoil.. Then you can do a good compression check to see if the top end is ok. If it's still leaking after the carb kit,then the float arm could be off or float pin or float arm itself may be worn,especially if the float arm has a lot of wobbly play.These are not offered in kits.Items 20,21.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Plus basically the float arm sits parallel with the carb body. The float pin/arm is probably horribly weathered. As were all the other parts. I was wondering why my kit didn't come with one. Do I buy part number 21 on dirt cheap polaris parts? I see the float arm is #20 but isn't on the list of parts to buy. Although my float arm does sit parallel it doesn't seem too sturdy.
