power steering kit

First time, please be gentle with me :)
Has anyone put a power steering kit on a 1999 or 2000 Sportsman 500? All the universal kits out there seem to begin at 2005 models.

Haven't heard of anyone doing this but the major difference between the steering post on a 2000 and a 2005 model was that later model steering posts were a tad larger and had updated steering support that used a bearing and mounting plate instead of a plastic block that would wear and get wobbly over time. 2000 model: Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse 2005 model: Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

thanks 'Ol Polaris tech, that really helps. I too am an 'Ol car, truck, bus, tractor, motor cycle, etc. retired tech. I figured I could make it work but I'm to cheap to roll a $750 pair of dice and not know for sure. Thanks again.

Maybe not new but newer perhaps. Yamaha put eps on the Grizzly 700 way back in 2007. Plenty of those out there used for sale with eps.
