where does the tool kit belong?

Got a used 2012 spts 400 HO but it's missing the tool kit. I made up my own tool kit but where does it go? Does it strap on anywhere or do they just give it to you loose when you buy it new? Thanks in advance!!

Not sure on the 400, but on my smaller models, there was a little indent under the seat it fit in. Honestly, the stock tool kit isn't too much to begin with. You're better off making one yourself. Where that would fit when your done is another thing.

You can see there isn't much tool in the tool kit.

40 bucks for a tool kit and I gave one away this past summer. I didn't know they worth worth that much. Hmm. I still have an extra one left too. I guess I'll keep it in case another friend needs one.

40 bucks is ridiculous that this place is asking for the tool kit and pouch, but you can get the set for 25 bucks at Cycle Parts Warehouse.. Which imo is still too much for what you get. :)

Mine was in the rear storage box at the back. I have added to that kit.

The one reslly useful tool is the spark plug docket. Made the change a breeze.

On a Grizzly, there is a small storage area under the seat behind the battery. On most Hondas, there is storage at the rear where the tailight is. Don't most newer Sportsman models have the big storage area under the composite front rack? You can put a whole lot of stuff in there.

They do, but there is a big sealed storage between bthe rear fenders at the back. Thats where mine was, and is.

That's one thing Yamaha was very lacking in, very little sealed storage. The Grizzly 700 had the little sealed storage box on the front fender. I do believe the 2016 Grizzly has more storage.

I remember there was a little storage compartment on the back of my old trail boss. The wife stored her cigarettes in there when she knew I wasn't taking it swimming.
