Default 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO Choke Cable Retracts

Just bought a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, when I pull out the choke cable it retracts back half way, are these adjustable at all or do I need a new one?

Turn the rubber covered choke base nut inward a tad. It tightens pressure on the choke shaft allowing it to stay out.

The rubber covered nut on the headlight pod that holds the choke lever in place.

Yep that one. Tighter you turn it the more pressure it puts on the shaft. Plus by the looks of it a little steel wool, WD 40 or PB Blaster on the shaft to get rid of the rust.

The cable you listed was a throttle cable. Sometimes you can get good deals on Amazon but be careful. Even the choke cable I looked up for your machine shows it doesn't fit. Plus not always, but most of the time shipping costs are added. A lot of ebay items are listed as free shipping.
Amazon.com: Motion Pro 10-0088 Choke Cable for Polaris: Automotive Amazon.com: Motion Pro 10-0088 Choke Cable for Polaris: Automotive
Even this cable with shipping is cheaper than ones on Amazon and show to fit your model. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-Sportsman-500-HO-2001-2013-Choke-Cable-/381486895983?hash=item58d264136f:g:rAQAAOSw7FRWZz6w&vxp=mtr You just have to check out several places before you order online.
