Default Thoughts on Sportsman 570

I am in the market for a something new. Does anyone have any thoughts about the 2016 sportsman 570's? I have looked at them and the 450's but i like the power of the 570.

I will be using this for trail riding and mudding. Any thoughts or reviews would be appreciated.

Good engine. Has good power from low to mid range riding. Into the 50's on the top end. Son and a buddy's son rented RZR's with the 570. Was a little underpowered on the higher elevations on the Paiute Trail in UT. This was around 10,000 ft. though. Other than that they were very good machines. I imagine it's even better in the quad as it's lighter than the RZR.

Kevin, I just bought one a few weeks ago and love it. Looked at the 850 and 1000, but could not justify the extra cost. For what I got my 570 and extras for would have only gotten me a base model bike in 850. Plenty of power and rides very nice, even with larger tires.

The 450 has the same engine as the 570 but is tuned to make a little less power on top end. Its similar to what Yamaha is doing with the Grizzly and Kodiak. They have the same engine but the Grizzly is tuned to be more responsive. Yamaha does it with different cvt clutch weights though, which could be easily swapped out for probably about $100. I'm not exactly sure what Polaris does to make the 450HO 570cc engine make 32 hp while the same displacement engine makes 45 hp in the Sportsman 570. I would think the Sportsman 570 would have ample power for most anyone unless you ride in sand or snow a lot as both of those conditions require a lot of power. The 570 tops out at around 65 mph, more than fast enough for most people and is just as fast as some of the 700cc quads like the Kymco and Arctic Cat 700cc single cylinder machines.

The 570 has a lot more power than the 450. My calculator isn't working right but it's something like a 30% difference. If I were to get a new Polaris right now it would be the 570 without a doubt. I'd probably get the EPS too as everyone that has it wouldn't want to go back to not having it.

Agreed!! Check out an Ace 570 too. I am thinking about one next time.

The Ace when it first came out was overpriced. Polaris quickly realized this and its not that much more expensive than the Sportsman models now. I have seen the non-eps Ace 570 going for $6499 new locally, that's what the 330 cc Ace originally was selling for. If you want eps on the Ace, I think its about $800 more.

Years and years ago I wondered why Polaris didn't build something like the Ace. Now that they do I think I'd rather ride than drive. You wouldn't be able to shift your weight as much in the Ace.

I think the Ace is still light enough that you can at least rock it if you get it stuck. It should come standard with a winch though because you can't get off the machine and do the one hand on the throttle the other pushing thing though to get it unstuck. I guess its not meant to be an extreme mud machine. Honestly from what I've seen the 32 hp Ace doesn't offer bad performance so that kind of leads me to believe the Sportsman 450HO's 32 hp with the larger displacement engine will perform better than most think. I watched the Polaris video where the 450HO smoked a Honda Rancher 420 in a drag race, it wasn't even close. I would have liked to see it go against a Can-Am Outlander 450L which has a lot more power than the Rancher. I'm guessing it would have been a much different outcome.

The Outlander L 450 has 7 more HP than the Sportsman 450 H.O. and their 570 has 4 HP more than the Polaris 570. Can-Am has been know to have more power on everything except their big bores. The Can-Am 850 and 1,000 are the same or only 1 HP difference from Polaris.
