570 hard gear shift issue
I noticed that the gear shifter is really stiff. I hope this is only because of so new. Anyone else notice? Much more so than my previous sportsmans. I had to keep releasing brake pedal re shifting to go in gear.
Thanks, R' |
Hopefully after a good break in shifting will be easier. Belt may be a tad wide on the new one and putting pressure on the clutches making it hard to shift.Plus I know these things have a higher idle than the old Sportsmans of years past which may contribute to it also.Or at least the first year model 570 that I got to try out at the old shop did.

OPT, glad you mentioned the idle, I noticed when I backed off on the throttle it had a very abrupt stop. Again not sure if this is break in related or adjustment issue. Even my SP800 wasn't that sensitive on the throttle engagment. Looks like I have a lot of learning curve on these new models?
Thanks OPT! R' |
I just bought a 2016 Polaris 570 EPS also and find the issue with the throttle but the more I break it in the better it seems.

The more I hear about them, the more I realize Polaris made a step in a good direction. I live my single jug Fuji, won't be trading anytime soon. But a 570 will eventually replace it. |

Do you still stop by the shop OPT? What's the word on the 570 engines? They are getting better mpg than the Fujis.

The 570 definitely has a lot more power than the old 500 had. I never had a Sportsman 500 but had a Scrambler 500 before and I could just imagine swapping out the 500 for a 570 in that chassis. That would have been one quick, sporty 4x4 for sure considering it weighed almost 150 lbs less than a Sportsman 570.
