Sportsman ball joint removal
Can someone please help me! I have a 2014 sportsman 570 efi, i need to remove the lower ball joint but its so shot the stud just spins when i try to loosen the castle nut. I dont want to cut it because im afraid with no threads left i wont beable to remove the cup from the carrier housing. Does anyone have any ideas what to do next?

If you can use a pry bar between the a-arm and ball joint to put pressure on the joint you can usually use an air impact to remove the nut. This is the cheapest ball joint removal tool around.Polaris ATV Ball Joint Removal Tool Polaris Lower Ball Joint Puller Tool | eBay Heat the strut area around the joint,if the ball still spins, clamp it with needle nose pliers so you can screw the remover on. Hopefully it's not worn so much that it just sucks the ball out and the cup remains. If that happens some have used bolts welded in the cup and used slide hammers. Some people have even made screw on adapters for slide hammers to remove ball joints. Several videos on this on how people have improvised pulling ball joints.

Thank you old polaris tech
The pry bar with impact worked great! I tried prying but only using a ratcheting wrench to no avail. Luckily my local polaris dealer pulled the old joint and installed the new one for just the cost of the new ball joint, thanks to griffins also. I will be buying that puller soon so i have it when the other side goes. Thanks again!
